Author's Notes: This is a "Tanka" or a Japanese verse form write on the subject of "Stupidity." This write reflects my poetic view (and personal view) of an negative human attribute or foible that all of us experience at one time or certainly another (hopefully not too much) in our individual lives. This "mask of ignorance," as I like to coin it, constitutes what I call in this Tanka: "Negation's ugly face . . . ." And it's a sad negative characteristic that should be challenged when it's ridiculous result has an impact on our individual life or the lives of our loved ones. A thought here to ponder next time any of us experience a "human nature adventure" where "stupidity" is so-employed by one of our fellow human beings who decides to be thoughtless and perhaps rude. Be careful -- human nature is always in motion and "stupidity" can present itself when you least expect it!! (Gary Bateman - May 15, 2015) (Tanka)
