Mr Tompkins had worked As a mechanic nearby The detective had found him With little or no try With questions to pose Tompkins was then aware What the detective was asking And why he was there. The charm he had bought For a girlfriend before She jilted him quickly She didn’t want more She said she could not A relationship make She then had dumped him But the charm, she did take The name he recalls Sara Jenkins he said When the detective’s eyes rolled And all had turned red That’s it, he got her Is what he had thought But now all he must do Is make sure she’s caught Tompkins had said He’d testify if need be To put the killer away To not set her free
