Stranger

A new stranger walks into the room A friend of a friend, invited along At a bar, with little introduction He seems distant and unknown I'm asked, as a favor, to keep him lively For he "knows No one and is shy always " They all know, I'm the opposite And ask for me to talk or try We engaged in a funny conversation In a surprisingly enchanting evening Before I realized, the night had ended With my friend, in toe, He was leaving That's when he turned to ask me, matter-of-factly, "Are you coming. With me?" I couldn't help but turn a crimson red As I denied his request And walked quickly to my car As My heart was crushed
