Stranded On the Planet
Stranded On The Planet
Spun out with no controls, space craft exploded on the water
Solid impact on the empty world, no land on this strange planet
Saved by a fractured pod, captured capsule by the waves
All else disintegrated in an instant on the day
Somber sounds of liquid waves paraded in their solemn prayer
Not much else remained
Crashed and sunk as pods might do
Stranded between two gray suns
Glaring down from opposite directions
Both horizons mocking the only soul alive
Lit the one and only silver ocean; my new home
Alone, alive, breathing alien thin air in desperate fear
Pushed on forever to survive the silver sea before me
Thirst forced me to consume the foreign drink
Sweet but could mean something dire yet unseen
Floating in the open my only option
Not much else to do to pull me through
Nutrients in the sea seem to sustain me
No death by hunger or by thirst
A curse much worse than that of crashing
My damaged scales, torn metallic wings will hold me here
Flying days are over now, under the unforgiving suns
