Stortebeker's Cog

Much Joviality Reigned on the decks of Stortebeker’s Cog In the days of the Hanse the men would dance, on the planks of Stortebeker’s Cog. And their Captain Klaus lived as in his house, on this Stortebeker’s Cog. As the wine would flow, the piper would blow, with mirth on Stortebeker’s cog. In Copenhagen they fled, and in Bremen they would dread, at the sight of Stortebeker’s cog. And the gold increased much, and the wine flowed as such, on this foolhardy Stortebeker’s cog. The priest cried from the North comes Gog and Magog, this Stortebeker’s cog. And joyous was captain Klaus, towards the prosperity of his house, the jubilant Stortebeker’s cog. But as the wine flowed more, and as his men grew sore this Captain Klaus was taken from his beloved Stortebeker’s cog. And in Hamburg they danced at this one chance. To thwart Stortebeker’s cog. So from his shoulders his head flung, this captain for whom they sung, And no more a jovial sound came from Stortebeker’s cog. Klaus Stortebeker was a german medieval pirate.
