Stormy Skies
A deep grey sea
hangs over the city
pregnant with lightning
though no flash appears
It wants to give birth
to its water at least
but there is no scream
of thunder rolling
It passes slowly
refusing to let go
waiting for the word
from above as its cue
Blue skies try to break through.
