Theme: Loss

I sing a song of midnight pain For we will not embrace again Although the sky grows blue and clear Within my heart a storm is near You dear darling To heaven soar What we did have it is no more.

I like the image of sending to heaven…it allows for closure and is a helpful hint on how to think about this loss for some of our obsessed individuals….been there.

Evocative and poignant but has a catchy cadence to your very well flowing lines dear richard. I loved the last two stanzas the most, so moving! And you rhyme just effortlessly! Ensuring your lines flow with each other seamlessly! Pleasure always reading your poems

I loved the soft way you described loss...simple but well put together lines said with tenderness...almost made me teary-eyed. Have a splendid evening, Sara

With only three stanzas one has to be succinct. I’m pleased my message is clear. Thanks for reading and commenting.

Nice rhythm to this fine entry for the contest, Rick. Good luck! This ties in well with your last poem. I enjoyed reading them both, my friend. Have a great 2024! Bill
