Stone Garden

I have come to the place Where a stone garden grows Where all flowers have turned to stone And no water flows. I have come to a place Where the sun seldom shines She’s turned her eyes And the day is as twilight. I have come to a place, By tortuos ways Am lost in the blizzard Of a life on the run I have come to this place Over years, over miles And the distance I’ve travelled Is grafted on the lines Cross my heart, and my face Deeper still In my soul. Life is no longer a playground Or an open field. There are walls now, That devide and surround Hemm us in and rob us Of the very air we breath, Chains of vine and twig and smoke Ideas, and desires Love lost and cast to the wind Alone we stumble, crumble and fall To the ground Look around, To find Where once flourished Eden .... A stone garden grows Carlos

'life is no longer a playground or an open field' As we grow older nothing remains so innocent..so wild and free. Our life is like that garden of eden whiclh developed into a stone garden..Indeed so true.A very powerful poem.Welcome to poetrysoup Carlos-Merhba : )
