Still Waiting For April
She's waiting for April
To come with her spring-songs,
Like us, waiting aimlessly:
Under our green tree,
Seeking March’s relief
And comfort like some meek folks!
Now, before our reluctant eyes,
March has died,
Through the comings and goings
Of a laughing sun –
April has come
With a deep-sucking bee!
Now, the bee sucks
All the nectar
Of the flowers in her garden:
Sucking by April’s night,
The night’s face
Honeyed by a moon;
Her flowers pollinate eagerly,
And the bee has buzzed away,
She still waits for April under the tree!
