Still Dream

I slip into a dream and you are there. You are as I remember you. You invoke feelings of when you were mine. I begin to perspire. I don’t know what to say. I know it’s a dream, I don’t want to touch you because as soon as I do, I know the dream will end. I just stand there looking at your beauty radiate. I’m a prisoner in my own dream. You fill me with happiness and in the dream everything is fine, it’s just us in a vast field of green pasture endless in distance. I want to tell you so much. I want to run to you and hug you, but my body does not respond. I just stand there and do nothing. In the dream I love you. I awake and I hate you. Sobbing I shut my eyes. Nothing lasts, not even love. Life is easier in a dream.
