Marking the day, since I have no idea how this will affect me. I start chemo tomorrow. I am placing my dear son into a care situation away from me since I have no doubt I won't be able to care for him while I am sick. There is no history of breast cancer in my family, so this was out of the blue and unexpected.

Today I contemplate those perfect soft mounds of flesh the pillows upon my chest For one has sent me on a quest a lump you see that has paused my rest We did the 3d mammogram followed immediately by an ultrasound And now its biopsy day tomorrow and my matched set will be scarred I fear The progression of this process has been slow quite the test messed up appointments and a road closure due to fire no less And it's taken 2 months to get here and so the moment of truth is near What exactly does it mean? Will it be removed Stay tuned - Artimus 10/8/2023 (C) Susan Manley Actually it's intense chemo for me, followed by surgery, and later radiation you see. My future includes loss of all hair, and a lot of not fun.

Oh my, Susan. My heart goes out to you. I know the unknowns are troublesome. I've suffered from the slowness of medical processes...the waiting is the hard part while we're forced to wait...out of control and living with countless questions. Bless your heart, dear poetess. Sending you prayers for comfort and healing for you and your family. Sara
