Stay On the Battlefield

The disciple Paul said to remain steadfast while waiting for the return of Christ He said to hold yourself sober and upright and dwell in God's light Today when I look at society I am somewhat dismayed That we are in a spiritual battle each and every day Fighting against principalities seen and unseen Wrestling with immoral behaviour and ideologies down right mean Divide and conquer is the Adversary's strategic battle plan We need to stay on the battlefield side by side, hand in hand We are at war fighting against rampant evilness We need to stay steadfast knowing that we are blessed For if we seek first the kingdom of God we will come to find The righteousness, the grace and the mercy that Jesus left behind And when we put on the breastplate of hope and love and the helmet of salvation We are now prepared to engage the enemy and fight for the duration We need to love each other, lift each other up, to be encouraging and respect all For these are the weapons we will use to make the enemy fall So stay on the battlefield fighting for truth and your spiritual life And remember the battle is not just yours it also belongs to our Saviour Jesus the Christ
