Starry Night
As the sun slowly set,
it said its last goodbye.
It went beyond the edge of our sights
and darkness filled the sky.
In the distance we saw lights
of blues and whites and reds.
We stared a while at the stars
twinkling above our heads.
As they flickered in the sky,
the stars danced with sheer delight.
They showed off their golden prime
for hours into the night.
As they ceased their sparkling display
they found another star to chase
as they raced they illuminated
the darkest depths of space.
But since all things come to an end,
the stars concluded their show.
The sun peaked slowly over the horizon
and said its first hello.
