Stand By Me

Will you stand by me, No matter what, In drought of land and, Storm of sea? Will you hold my hand, When the waves carry me under? Or will you let go, And leave me at the mercies of the plunder? Will you stand by me? When am old and wrinkly? Still cup my cheeks in your palms, And call me baby? Will you, Still look at me in the morning, When my make-up, Is all messed-up, And think am a beauty, Your beauty? Tell me, Will you, After a cold hard fight, Me acting up, Changed the locks to the house, Still remain faithful, Though them girls at the club, Are offering you comfort, A mind-drift from your cloud of sorrows, In the warmth of their laps? Will you still stare at me, And want only me, Even when she passes by, With curves more defined, And swing more revised? Will you get bored? Three decades down the line? Or will you get bored? Will I always be the gold whose glitter caught your eye? Or will you want a change of shine? Tell me, Will you stand by me, Through the test of time?
