Stalker

I remember seeing that shadow; it had that distinct shape She hovered around me a few weeks back but surely enough she disappeared Now it's returned and I recall the feeling of dread she gave me the first time she visited Because that anxiety returned A pair of eyes that penetrate my head, can see my inner being and thoughts race The shadow knows what games to play She plays hop-scotch on my fear Rolls dice to decide my insecurity I cannot fathom the depth of her cruelty She is the snake when I escape up a ladder only to slide down her and start this game again I may never win The shadow keeps returning A black storm cloud over my head of distrust Forever playing games to monopolise and take me away to her lair I wait for the sunlight Where the shadow cannot follow. Shine

wow. this is intense. I love writing about shadows, willow trees and butterflies myself.. somehow 1 recently have become accomplished. So in saying that, I suggest you always follow yourheart dear writer and don't make a mistake like I did and get caught up in the soap opera here at the soup. My best regards always, hope to read you in book form one day! :) Your friend in poetry, Lucinda
