Spring In the City

As winter dances it's final dance white snow begins to melt The fire of spring begins to blaze Trees - long dormant Now have little buds on their branches From the cold earth plants begin to rise break through the frigid soil Squirrels scurry into city parks The population of the city grows hopeful Spring brings joy with it Mother Nature will have is say - here in the asphalt homeland

Great description of an urban setting in the spring season. It looks like you missed hitting the "t" key on your keyboard while you typed your last line. I believe you want "its" in lieu of "is" in that last line. Perhaps "her" would be more appropriate there. It's your writing. Just a small suggestion.

Matthew, Ah the image of spring so eloquently painted with your creative words. Beautiful! I know it will be a welcome sight to those who have had their fill of cold and snow. I enjoy the winter because I live in the tropics, but I have experienced the cold winters and your poem speaks of HOPE and JOY which spring indeed brings. Mahalo

it's nice down here in Texas, March and spring the best combination ever! I love, the joy, and the bluebonnet fields running on the side of the highways. Matt, I hope you are fine. PS.... Are you coming to Dallas this year? Linda
