Spring
Spring
Ahhhhh
As the frost leaves the ground
I feel my mind begin to thaw
Old emotions rise
New possibilities
The sun rises on previously dull eyes
All things seem within my grasp
Emerging thoughts sprout from the dried ground
What seemed barren has been renewed
Heart quickens
Still affected
Nose intoxicated
I can taste the air
Anticipation
Invigoration
Muscles ready to move
I shake off the residue of a long cold winter
Dark days no longer my concearn
Time for dancing
Singing
Dreaming
Time for sleeping has ended
Remnants of youth flow through my veins
I rise once again
I am still part of spring
An old tree with new leaves
Standing proud
Yet swayed
Moved by the winds of change
Ahhhhhh
Spring
In the fall of my life
Yet you and I coexist
