Spread Your Wings
There's someone I know and look up to, every time I see her she's like an angel standing
before me.
Yet she tells me every time she's in front of a mirror, she can only see her broken wings.
I know I don't understand so well, I guess her mind and body don't see eye to eye.
All I can do is be there to comfort her, when I see her break down and cry.
I can try to help and put the pieces back together, so she can finally see what's true.
I'd give her all the strength inside me, and help her see this through.
If she could see things from my eyes, I know her heart would sing.
If we could walk together I could show her, and she could finally spread her wings.
If I can show her how others look up to her only tears of joy she would cry.
Let her feel all the love that comes her way, it will help spread her wings to fly.
Life can be cruel at times for all things we have come to hear and see.
So many influence's pointing at us to how we should look and what we all should think.
They can keep their misguided idea's, I tell her we shouldn't listen anymore.
Don't let them box you in, take my hand and I'll help you through this open door.
There is a fresh new world out here for her, the first step is all she needs to take.
I have told her it may not be the easiest path, but all here is real and ready for the take.
