Sprained

Pop and a crackle A dreadful noise you hear When ya leap off the bike Onto the pavement below As the pain begins to settle While the wheel slowly spun. Aching and groaning Crying and whining Hyperventilating and panicing These thoughts rushed through my mind. Was I gonna be alright? Was my foot broken? Will I ever work After this dreadful situation? All wrapped up and iced I elevate to keep it circulated Pain throbbing as the swelling rose Thumping and bopping like a drum. At least it wasn't severe It was a baby sprain That hurt like getting hit Straight in the face. Now I sit in my room Healing up as best I can Improving each day So I may walk like a human Without limping like a zombie. I learned a lesson that day Never go out with a bike With a faulty right brake Unless you want to bail Ending up with a sprained foot And riding your way to the doctor.
