I got lost again in childlike wonder Looked for seashells while listening to thunder The rain it came soaked me to the core I paid it no mind while exploring the shore I removed my clothes too wet to wear Laughed and skipped danced without a care The troubles of the world slipped from my shoulders My adult responsibilities and mountain of folders On a secluded beach with childlike glee I discovered the essence of who I used to be.

Richard, your poem perfectly captures the age-old wisdom: when life gives you thunder, just look for seashells! It's a delightful reminder that sometimes getting lost is the best way to find yourself—preferably while dancing half-naked in the rain. ~Don

Enjoyed the retracing of your foot steps back to your childhood days! An empty beach, sea shells strewn on the sea strand, a sudden rain drenching you through...! Your natural instinct of dispensing with the baggage of rain-soaked clothes and running nude as a child. What spontaneity, what child-like freedom! Lovely poem. Congratulations dear Richard on your great win.

Thanks for reading. In reality I did not have that time of innocence. It is a construct of my imagination. I am thankful for imagination.

Delightful and delicious, Richard... Only one question: I was with you all the way there as you shed your adult trappings... right up until you wrote 'of whom.' ~ Ahem, Pete R. Pan

Endearing and playful, but I'd avoid those nudist beaches. We're only human ;)

Ha ha. A return to innocence and a time before shame seperated us from ourselves and God. Kind of like life in a certain garden.
