Splendid City

Oh Splendid City bathed in moon's clear light From cliffs afar, an opalescent sight. My lover waits within your walls so near To window lit my heart bids me take flight! But leave I must and to your strength commend, My true-love in your fastness keep from plight. 'Til I return in glory draped and then We two in ecstasy shall reunite. Our limbs commingled, lips conjoined in kiss, I pledge my sweet, oh! Soon to be the night This comely bard your senses will delight And once again our passions to ignite.
