Spirit of a Child

She’s walking the streets, alone again, Her broken heart has known nothing but pain. She cannot feel the falling rain or sun, Unwanted child, she has no place to run. A wandering soul alone in the dark, She hides in the trees of an empty park. Just watching children leave the way they came, When their mother gently calls out their name. And no one comes to take her safely home, So once again through the night she must roam. Form: Sonnetina Due
