Spaceship

I landed on a likely world And looked around for signs of life; I saw a figure like a slug - He asked me if I’d take his wife. The alien was pretty grim; I aimed my stun gun, fired at him, Then sped away at record speed, And left the planet and its moon. I saw a star and headed there; I’d reach that solar system soon. I hope it’s better than the last Because the Earth is dying fast… Written 2nd March for Shadow’s Spaceship contest

Good luck in this contest Jack. I haven't tried this one yet. I wanted to let you know that I read your collaborative poem on Whispers. I tried to leave a comment but I haven't mastered the hows and whats of her site. I thought it was great and i know you write with a heavy heart. Hope you are doing well. Love, Joyce

What a lovely space treat you have described here for us my friend! This is a fabulous and phenomenal tale, and seemingly quite accurate [note: I wouldn't give my wife away!] It is so very true, that our planet is dying quickly, I just hope I am not around to see the end [maybe I'll be on that spaceship!] I surely loved reading this delightful poem here this evening! Great Work!!

I don't blame the alien for leaving the earth. I would also look for another planet. Good write.
