Sonnet Xxxvi: When You Speak 2 - Left Wing

When you speak, Do not speak of your Successes Without telling us of the Processes Do not excite us with the tale of your Triumph Without accompanying it up with the tale of your Training It is useless to display before us your Glory If you will not intimate us with its Story. Certification without Examination is Corruption So help our youthful minds Do not tell us of Favours like there were no Labours Do not tell us you got Lucky When actually your Blessings didn’t come as lottery But came over time as you worked for it So that we know, Life is neither magic nor fairy tale.

We are easily thrown into a world of day dreams and covetousness when we see the beautiful ends and shows of the life of the famous and successful. But the scenario gets even worse when all they narrate and show forth is their success stories without giving us an hint as to how they worked for it.
