Sonnet of Love

Why does my heart beat suddenly of love To strangers who’ve just been passing my way And been bedazzled but only to have Lifetime to remember, some time to stay? Glances and verses all traded to bliss, Glittering hope do blind these truthful eyes And love bruises create eternal piece That keeps on playing to where this heart lies. I keep it secret though my heart complains That Cupid failed an arrow on your chest After striking my heart with costly pains, And wonder where he throws the arrows rest. My heart dies tonight because love I know Even in my deep sleep away you’ll go.
