Songbird At 3 Am
Hark! What beautiful singing I hear!
Songbird in a tree so near.
How can you sing there in the dark?
Are you a robin or a meadowlark?
Sweet little songbird with no home,
Sweetly, sweetly, sing your song.
Sing it, sing it in the dawn,
Morning’s on the way.
Foolish little songbird,
It’s dark out there…
How can you sing when you don’t know where
you’ll go when dawn lights up your day?
How can you sing, I say?
Sweetly, sweetly, sing your song.
Sing it, sing it, sing it in the dawn,
Morning’s on the way.
Bird, the night will go away,
Morning will soon announce the day.
Sing your song both high and low,
Soon the shadows will have to go.
Sweetly, sweetly, sing your song.
Sing it! Sing it in the dawn,
Morning’s on the way!
