Son To Son

When I was but a youngster In the folly of my day I splashed around a swimming pool Before I knew my way The water quickly sucked me in And I began to drown I knew my life was over then As I was going down I must have made a mighty splash As I was sinking fast Although the wave that covered me Was claiming me at last I didn’t have a chance to say Please help me if you can I simply said goodbye to life Before I was a man Then suddenly to my surprise My father pulled me out He sat me on the water’s edge As I began to pout He didn’t pay attention To the tears I must’ve shed He didn’t seem to mind at all That I was nearly dead I know that he was teaching me To think about my play A father knows the dangers That are leading us astray Today I am a daddy And my boy and I are one We learn of life together As we grow from son to son.

So endearing, Bryan. Keep passing the torch. (Don't let the swimming pool's H2O douse it! lol). Great write. Magic Moments, Gershon

Thank you for your sentiment. I'm not exactly drowning in comments. Yes, father and son learn from each other. Good thing, too. Yours truly, Bryan.
