Somewhere In My Heart

Somewhere in my heart a faint sound rings Somewhat weak, due to obstacles hard, I hear it when I sit all alone A sound of wish, forced down by despair. I had once walked away from a shining sun My shadow was cast on the road I chose- I chose night, without moon or stars I chose the dense thorns, which pierced my heart. Many summer days did come and go But I never saw the sun with my eyes At dawn, I searched in the western sky And at dusk I looked for it in east. The rain was a torrent, and I saw in the news Drought had scorched up the poor plants The clouds let no light come to earth The days were as sunny as they could be. Could this be my worst sin? Had I known it, could I do this? I search in vain for an advice I have committed a vulgar crime... Somewhere in my heart the faint sound rings A sound of regret, that of pain- In my heart embers did last Till they died into ash and dust.
