Somewhere
Though the sun shines in the sky
It gives no heat
The thunder is heard from a distance
And whenever there's silence it's deafening
The streets are covered in dust
Because there is no rain
The smell of smoke overshadows the atmosphere
It's getting harder to breathe
Never keep a blind eye to your back
It can become the enemy
Today you're called brother, tomorrow just another
Head tied, face masked, weapon grasped firmly
Soldiers they are called
Yet they have no training
Run to the hills in search of rescue
Dying of thirst, these knees are weak
Haven't slept in days the nights keep calling
Been on the run for weeks
There's no home to go home to
Fighting for peace, so many lives lost
Pray for peace of mind
But there's no peace of country
Away from the chaos into the land of the unknown
Stepped on a landmine and it exploded
