Something New
She had all she ever needed and yet she still wasn't happy
Even she had conceded that it was true "she never felt free"
Everything she ever bought trying to please this inner need
Never getting what she sought as her soul was never freed
With each year that past and all the things she accumulated
Those feelings don't ever last and have long since dissipated
There in the room so full of stuff but not a single soul around
One day she finally had enough and would no longer be bound
She started giving stuff away a purse or shoes here and there
For often in her day she now seen a way that she could care
It wasn't a big showy act but just something special in a need
So many out there truly lacked this being what she could read
She occasionally treated herself too but it wasn't the first thing
For it became in the giving she knew that made her heart sing
Not alone in that room today but out delivering something blue
For in following the Lord's way there will always be things to do
1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil:
which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith,
and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
