Someone Is There

Overhead clouds threaten rain A shadow before my eyes Someone is there Afternoon showers drown out thought and pain In the heart of the metropolis Ghostly trees drip drip drip onto the pavement Someone is there Near the large trees steps are being taken One more day of clouds and weariness As the storm ends Ther's no doubt That in the shadowy heart of the city Someone is there

wow, I found a more current one that I actually had missed. I like this one. This seemed ominous to me. Ghostly! would be neat to know what you imagined!

Compelling, Matthew. It reads like the beginning of a great mystery novel. You set a suspenseful mood and leave the reader wondering who that "someone" is! Love, Carolyn
