Somebody

Somebody I don’t know why I’m writing this poem to you, When you’re not even the one I’m drawn to. But why, when I think of him You’re the one who comes to mind. Now, I doubt myself For liking someone, But thinking about somebody. I often ponder if I cross your mind, If my presence lingers, even in kind. Please, don't look at me like Romeo to Juliet, I don't want to fall for someone I'll regret. Do I truly like him, or is it you? As I write this poem, the answer comes into view. I know deep down, you're not meant for me, Just another passing soul, not meant to be. So I'll cherish the moments we've shared, But I won't let my heart be ensnared. You're just one of the men who crossed my path, But our destinies, they'll never align, alas.
