Solitude

Solitude, no thoughts- the echo in a seashell, an eloquence the soul sometimes yearns for, the calm. The ocean is a seashell. 02/08/2014 For "Mood Music" contest by Sheri Fresonke Harper

Great thoughts, Connie. I am inclined to think that tinnitus has to do with solitude. Perhaps the lessening of active thought in the brain and the ensuing vacuum. I remember the words of one of my favorite aunts - "It was so quiet, I could hear the silence roar."

I love the way you bring the imagery full circle by linking the ocean to the seashell. It really crystallizes the theme.

Sometimes I do yearn for the utter silence, the silence that can be achieved with peace and tranquility! I also loved the symbolism of the ocean is a seashell...very clever and awesomely done! I really enjoyed reading this illustrious poem this evening! What a brilliant piece, Great Work!!
