Solitude

Jul 2013 Chennai I walk up to the beach, in the darkness of clouds and rain, I see a lot of people; I avoid looking at anyone so much that even I notice it. So I meet the gaze of the next person passing by, It felt like they were staring at me, Oh! A colleague from work place, whom I only know by face; Hi, smile, walk across They remain, a colleague from work place, whom I only know by face. I walk up to the beach, in the darkness of cloud and rain, I see a lot of people; I avoid looking in anyone’'s eyes so much that even I notice it. So I meet the gaze of the next person passing by, They had red eyes, A pose that screamed - move or say anything and I will run away, As my gaze interrupted their scrounging of the garbage bin, for plastic bottles, half eaten KFC burgers, shoes, clothes? I see a lot of people; I avoid looking at anyone Even if I notice it.
