Soldier Turned Into a Statue

Soldier Turned Into a Statue Saw some soldier turned into a statue, Who was brave in battle that is true; Around his waste, he wore a belt And on one knee he now knelt. With hand had been wiping his brow; How he survived, we wondered how After going in to bring last body out; Saving souls is what war is all about. Body had part of it's leg missing And death he had just felt it kissing; Last time we looked he was still alive; So fortunate for him that he did survive.
