Social Media
What happen to the days when we would go outside to play
Being stuck behind a phone screen is what we now do these days
Caught up in all these social media trends
A couple thousand followers
But which ones are your friends
Exstistence has changed a lot
And our smart phones are the sin
Can't even have a conversation
Without looking on Facebook to check in
But what can you really say to people behind a screen
Social media has us hooked
And we're to blind to see
How were being bought by the smart phone industry
Just go outside and look around
You won't find many without there heads down
Because we're so caught up in the moment
Of what's happening online
That the person your ment to be with just passed by
You will never know how that first date feels
The first year of marriage eating burnt meals
The way she looks when she holds your son
The arguments when you say your done
Then later kiss and make up and have some fun
To the moment when your holding her hand on her death bed
And thinking of all the things you could have said
But you didn't because you were on Facebook instead
If we could just only take a minute to go out in the world and have a conversation face to face
You will be surprised at how little effort it takes
Nothing gets accomplished by being on our phones
This world is be turned into social media drones
So turn off your phones, laptops, and iPads
And show the world how you can raise above that
Because you deserve to know how special you really are
And nobody can tell you that on social media anyhow
So don't let the social media industry define your tune
Go out into the world and let the real things inspire you
