So Long Sweet Summer

The sun bids goodnight to the wide Texas sky, and welcomes the twinkling stars. When through the cottonwood trees comes a crisp autumn breeze, a refreshing delight spread afar. So long sweet summer, its time to cool down the passionate flame, like the leaves on the ground. They once were so lively as the blossomed on high, but they had their prime, and now they lay down and die. But they always return as do I to you, after the winter, when the coldness is through.

Beautifully done Ashley. Don't forget to put the Form after you do the poem ... I believe this is either Light Verse or Rhyme or something that has the 2nd and 4th lines rhyming ... I'm not sure which one ... the different Forms are in the left hand column under Resources. They usually don't include writing without a Form (i.e. leaving "I don't know") in contests or as a feature of the week.
