There was an eerie calm, Like before a storm, The Moon shone nil, As the night stood still. High in the canopies, Not a bird did stir, Low on the ground, No Wolf to be found. As time stood still, Feeling was indescribable, Not a blade of grass, Had been disturbed by the past. Then out of the blue, Swooped a snowy white Owl, Down upon its prey, Where the mouse did lay. With one fluid grip, The Owl had taken him, Back to the nest, To feed the young in zest. /|\

A very true illustration of nature at work, Rick. Beautifully written, though the mouse might beg to differ. Ty for the spiritual insight you gave in the other comments about this well crafted poem. You are a visual artist w/a pen for sure. Great work here. Love you, mate. Keep giving us some your valuable knowledge from Down Under. Much love to you and yours.

Yes the white Owl is seen as a messenger of the gods or Underword. It represents the abilities to see past deceit and illusion, and grants the ability to see that which may be hidden to others, including peoples' true motives, and thank you for your kind words Talin /|\

Really nice Rick. As I left my house this morning for work (5am) I could hear an owl in one of my trees hooing and the sounds was magical. It wasn't a snowy white owl, they are not known to be in our area, probably a barn owl, but it still was magical as is your poem today.
