Smoothing the Jagged Edge

Living on the jagged edge, The slippery slope of not enough, Only touching solid ground In the moment after midnight, In the flicker of a nightlight, In the shadow of a dream Lies the ghost of a chance For existence to be real, Solid, touchable, True. The jagged edge smoothed over The slippery slope Gripped tight; Hint of hope, shade of a secret Key to the doorway Of maybe, possibly, More.
