Smoke and Fire
The sky looks like smoke and fire
Boiling from the Southwest
The silhouetted trees seem to be burning
Ablaze from fire in the sky
Roosters are unaffected with the show
Still cock-a-doddling the morning into day
They are joined by one lone crow look-out
Who is letting the others know danger is near
Whitey comes around preening and stretching
For the morning, loosing those joints
While the sky is continuouly changing
From glory to glory while the world moves on
Just like the cat, not even noticing
The spectacular are displayed in the sky
One day in the sky the King will
Come with his display and every eye will see
Now there is a cloud floating carrying
The blaze on it's backside
It is as if the smoke conceals
The blaze just before the blaze explodes
It is as if fierce combustion
Is going to spring forth
Lighting up the world
With a glowing burning sky
The air is chilling me to the bone
For it is damp and cold
Out on the porch at sunrise
Thank you Lord for the few minutes with you and nature
