Well said, Carolyn. Foxes and wolves are so beautiful to look at, but enticing. One wants to get closer for a better view. But like the demon, they can be very dangerous, wildly destroying their prey. Fortunately, most victims get far enough away to lick their wounds, heal, and live free...never forgetting the dreadful experience. But able to find a measure of joy. So it is also with relationships. Watch out for those foxes out there, my friends. Lovingly, Dane Ann

Great description of a true predator. Enjoyed reading your poem this morning. Will be careful as I wander about today! P. S. I live near some parks and mountains and a mall, heard the sounds in my poem last weekend in the very early morning. They are still here. Comforting--as long as you are inside. Have a wonderous holiday.

Carolyn, you continue to amaze me. You are so profoundly gifted in the art of description. You have the ability to paint such a graphic yet poetic picture on each subject matter. This one touches home... Thank you for writing it! Lay

A gripping write Carolyn.. This characteristics in a person can be ugly and devastating especially for the person who is on the receiving end of it.. In the animal kingdom on the otherhand God had a perfect plan and a fox are just as much an integral part of His plan.. I love this thought provoking write of yours.. Love and blessings ;) Wilma

Brilliantly written! We live in the wild, as you know Seafaress. The wolves will inherit their fate, no doubt. I feel your angst in this as you are always supportive and loyal to your friends..let the lambs be assured that "tomorrow" will come and all is not lost. Blessings, peace and joy to you, with love, Audrey

oh dear....very gritty... as always your poetry is a genuine struggle with emotions....always a task to portray them accurately as you have done..... .by the way, I hope it is purely fiction.....Syd

Wow. The fox only thinks he is sly, his punishment is yet to come. And, yet, he leaves such damage in his wake. I only hope that the devoured soul can be replinished, the crushed hopes can come alive again, the devastated dreams can once again be dreamt and that the victim is not forever ruined from experiencing true love. Nice job, Carolyn. Joe

This lech is definitely sadistic, utterly sociopathic. Frightening that there are such people in this world, human as well as animal. Love, Dave

A deep poem, this metaphor makes us ponder what lies behind the heart of this excellent, yet disturbing poem. Hope this isn't a personal reflection on something touching your life that is painful or taking away your peace of mind. Hugs, just in case!!:) Hope this is simply good poetry!:)

that's part of nature. these are beast they eat what God provides in the method he ordained them to. with cunning and viciousness.hunger is a force to be reckoned with no matter what place we are in the food chain. and yet compaired to us the fox is a far less of a threat.

Smile ~ Yet aside from this my own reflective thought my dear; "Yes," this is a sad somber poe painting, an unpleasant truth so often found amid people, relationships & life within the here & now but, Soon, the light of day shall Dawn &, sorrow shall abate so, keep "Your Beauties" eyes to the skies &, keep brushing these soul-stirred poes; "Profound" ~ ....Cont:)

Smile!? ~ Now that, Sounds like a pretty bad wolf "My 'Dear, Precious & Priceless Carolyn Devonshire!!!'" ~ I wonder if this is fiction or perhaps, a true experience? Either or, sometimes I truly Do wonder, whom is the hunter & whom is the hunted within this it often does seem, razzle dazzle, presto chango World wherein, All, is not always what it does sometimes portray or paint itself to somehow be.... ~ Cont:)

Oh Carolyn, a cruel write of a poem. Very good. What vivid phrasing... 'washes purity from her tormented soul'. Incredible line. You wrote perfectly of a detached, conquering love. My best, Deb
