Slower

When we first met our eyes were wide, We were both looking for a need inside. Our lives were at a crossroad, With each of us carrying a different load. We found ourselves with a gift from above, I knew and you knew he would need a lot of love. Not yet knowing each others tendencies, We rushed in and paid our marriage fees. With each passing day, month, and year, Little things about each of us brought on a little fear. Two gifts later and a lot of good times and bad, There was a since of wanting more than what you had. Call it security, call it provision, call it what you will, It all came down to me not being able to provide it still. I longed in my heart to go back and start slower, But we all know that there is no going back over. I did love you but now I am confused if I still do, But I want you to be happy and find that security you want too. I just hope and pray that you don’t rush to fill a hole with loose soil, Because when the storms hit again the ground will crumble and spoil. Not for my sake but for the gifts from above, Please go slower this time to try and find love.
