Sloth

sin so seemingly harmless offending no one sloth hides behind selfish smiles feigning pain or pitiful preening and purring inside it acquiesces accepting of assistance sighing it lays back secure in the knowledge others will carry its load it is the knowing which renders it so deadly 10/31/2018 Written for Choka poetry contest “One of the Seven Deadly Sins” Sponsored by Edward Ibeh

Thanks, Susan. Yes, it seems to me sloth has that reputation of doing no harm, yet in its worse, it knows what it is doing. I appreciate your kind words.

Thank you, Wendy. I’m glad you liked this poem. I did rather picture sloth as having some feline characteristics.
