Slipped Away
slipped away
metallic taste of blood
lingers on my tongue
grieving wine of life
sweet life
flavoured salt and iron
greets a morning
mourning her loss
anger burns as fire
denial laughs falsely
the clock’s alarms today
yesterday she was here
holding my hand smiling.
