Slip Sliding Away
I know a lot of people who are all headed the same way
No, not to the steeple as whom themselves they betray
A passenger in a hand basket, too preoccupied to notice
Oh how easily satan does outwit that point so many miss
Not only slipping and sliding but not accepting God's Hand
satan so cleverly dividing, and you, you don't understand
Like a pawn he uses you moving you all around his board
Denying that God is true, a decision one's soul can't afford
So further and further they slid in thinking everything is fine
Being led by staunch inner pride satans favorite kind of wine
In so being drawn out I'd only plead you'd try just once more
Despite all of that doubt take one moment to answer the door
Get out of that hand basket and call out loudly for His Hand
Oh on this you can just bet, that He will already understand
His Name not to be a burden, He removed all of your shame
Be not like other men but rejoice in and reverence His Name
Psalms 24:1
(A Psalm of David.) The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.
Psalms 33:8
Let all the earth fear the LORD:
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
...so cleverly dividing, and you, you don't understand
You just don't understand!
Slip sliding away.
