Sleeping Giants
SLEEPING GIANTS
Jack Kelly
Each seed I see
Comes wrapped in a cloak
Filled with pregnant potential;
Waiting to be awakened
By a benevolent Spirit
Whose potent power
Transforms hard shells to
Soft, fragrant flowers.
Each person I see
Comes wrapped in a cloak
Filled with pregnant potential;
Waiting to be awakened
By a benevolent Spirit
Whose potent power
Transforms base instincts to
Noble virtues.
Neither fame nor fortune
Can achieve such transformation
But only a soul
Willing to surrender
To the womb of silence
Within.
