Sleeping Giant

Dusk slays the day Dawn takes sin away Lunar waves Wash and fade With the tide Clouded thunderhead Disgruntled mountain Surging typhoon Volcanic fountain Storming hand Gathers night Acting on plan Disease, famine We’ve awakened A sleeping demon With each branch we break Another life he takes Fire destroys What he enjoys Rivers and lakes Move and vein Deserts scabbed skin Canyons bleed within The plague a science We stand In human defiance And neck to blade The one that gave The finder of the way Destined to fall away
