Sleep On It
They couldn't really sleep but were so tired all day long
Causing them to weep wondering where they went wrong
As night after night came the problem only gets worse
And if things stay the same they'll end up in a hearse
Everything bound up in their head keeps pounding away
Upon each other they fed turning on them day by day
Like a giant wave with no way to get out from under
Now they were slaves as their own being is set asunder
They tried everything, from tapes to books and even pills
But peace that couldn't bring only worsening their own ills
Finally they just cried out, in a loud voice, Lord I need You
Yeah, they had doubt but it was in their choice that was true
They slept well that night, in fact they sleep well every night
Jesus' Name now in sight now showered by a Heavenly Light
The story is about you, just that you haven't finished it yet
But when you finally do, a good night sleep you'll finally get
Genesis 31:40
Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me,
and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.
