Sleep

Drifting....ever so slowly To sleep...I desperately need. My head is one With my pillow.... Resting the brain...it's dire need. With images of yesterday And days to come, Abstract thoughts and wonders.... I wonder....where they're from. It is dream land I am yearning. It's all I really need. Escape to unreality... A dream...inside... A dream.

Hi Adell. Thank you so much for posting your comment. I've only posted a few poems and I haven't been on this site for a half year. First time back in a while. I read some of your poems and really enjoyed them. I've learned that the opening part of the poem is the most important part. Getting the reader's attention is crucial.....and you do that so well.
