Sitting On a Bench
Sitting on a bench by the window at night
Playing with some flowers that happen to be there
She looks out the window, enjoying the sight
Neon light shines on her from the hotel that’s near
A black cat jumps on her lap, covers the flower
Purrs loudly, takes away the silence that’s no more
She pets him, continues to look out with power
Mood is created something she feels in the core
The night, mostly quiet, with a crushed flower
And a purring cat laying on her disturbed lap
Seeing the flashing neon sign by the bower
Is enough to bring peace while she takes a nap
Her tenderness was shown between all things there
Her eyes dropped quickly while the mood did broaden
Calmness was all over the place and in the air
She loved her life and all the perfect things within
